The AOAC is run by Simon and Lizzy Whitmore. Simon has had a connection with the AOAC since the 1990's and started his career there, learning the skills he now coaches. Lizzy and Simon met through the centre in 2001 and married in 2004 having found love through a passion for kayaking. Their children, Erin and Connor both grew up at the AOAC and had their introduction to the great outdoors through the centre. It is this family feel that makes the AOAC so unique as the entire team are friends and family first and foremost and share a passion for the outdoors and passing on that love to others.
At Adur Outdoor Activities Centre, we are passionate about providing exceptional outdoor experiences that inspire and educate. Our team is dedicated to fostering a love for the outdoors while ensuring the highest standards of safety and learning. With a rich history of facilitating outdoor activities tailored for all ages, we believe that adventure is a pathway to personal growth and collective empowerment.
Simon, Lizzy, Erin and Connor all enjoy their time outdoors individually and as a family. Nala and Simba, our minature dachshunds, lead the security department at the AOAC.
Established in 1977 The Adur Centre Charity (Charity Number, 274412) works to support children and young people to access and experience the benefits of outdoor activities and education, both formal and informal. The charity works to raise funds and awards grants to groups to allow them to access the AOAC at reduced costs or for no cost to the individuals. Become part of a community that values adventure and learning by becoming a supporter of the Charity and donating £20.00, as a thank you you will receive a free climb at the centre.
